Event Drew 125 Attendees for Technology Education and Networking

Arxis Technology's recently completed customer conference - Connections 2009 - was a tremendous success! With a theme of "Building Value…Building Success," the conference drew over 125 attendees, including Arxis clients and prospects, conference sponsors, and Arxis personnel to Glendale, CA on October 15. Everyone enjoyed a plethora of educational sessions, networking opportunities, technology updates, good food, prizes, and fun. The consensus from many attendees was that Connections 2009 was the best ever!

The Events of the Day
Connections began with a thought-provoking and motivating keynote called "Being a Powerful Leader Regardless of Your Role." Presented by noted IT and CPA consultant, Jennifer Wilson, the keynote challenged each listener to evaluate ways to be a more effective leader in all areas of life. After that, everyone enjoyed lunch on the patio under a beautiful blue sky.

Following lunch, breakout sessions commenced with three separate tracks from which attendees could choose. Topics included software tips and tricks, features of new releases, important 3rd party products, and advice on how to work smarter. The "business building" track featured session on fraud prevention, the economic outlook, and an overview of business intelligence.

David Cieslak, Arxis Principal, (aka "Inspector Gadget") provided the closing keynote, which featured an overview of some of the coolest technology available today and a heart-warming story about the Windows Home Server. After that, the Arxis Technology t-shirt 3.0 was unveiled for the first time before attendees were dismissed to enjoy an evening mixer with food, drinks, and giveaways. Prizes included Disneyland tickets, AMEX gift cards, free software, and even a flying monkey!

Pam Pimentel, Controller for Pacific Casual, LLC, found the conference to be of great value. "Arxis Connections was extremely enjoyable and profitable. I was able to get caught up the Arxis staff and other client friends, see the future of MAS 90, and learn about a great reporting tool that will save me 10 - 15 hours every month. To top it off, I won two tickets to Disneyland!"

The Connections Trade Show
Fifteen vendor sponsors offering a variety of valuable products and services to small- and medium-sized businesses were an important part of Connections. Attendees had a chance to stop by their table, eat lunch with them, and understand the benefit of working together. Brian Austin, Director of PR for SpeedTax, described Connections as "highly beneficial" both for the sales and marketing opportunities and chances to build key relationships.

Post-Connections Activities
Arxis Technology planned Connections to educate, engage, and energize their clients. In order to maintain momentum from the conference, Arxis encourages all their clients (those that attended and even those that could not) to consider the following activities to build value from their existing software and build their corporate success:

  • Contact their Arxis account manager or consultant to discuss ways to improve their system
  • Download session materials
  • Evaluate important 3rd party products
