Manchester-based wealth management firm Xentum is offering investors access to an innovative Absolute Return Plan - a groundbreaking structured investment launched by award-winning provider Blue Sky Asset Management.

  • Plan provides positive absolute returns potential for investors regardless of market direction
  • Minimum 45% return if FTSE 100 is at or above initial level at maturity
  • Contingent capital protection cannot be breached during the investment term.

At maturity, the accumulated annual returns are payable with a fixed minimum of 45% and a maximum of 75% subject to the FTSE 100 Index simply being at or above its starting level at maturity with no growth required.

The innovative six-year plan creates absolute returns potential for investors, based on the annual performance of the UK's FTSE 100 Index, regardless of its direction during the investment term, with a high minimum return at maturity that requires no market growth, and contingent capital protection.

The innovative 6-year Plan will capture 100% of any movement in the FTSE 100 up or down annually recording this as a positive absolute return to a maximum of 12.5% per year throughout the investment term - with the starting level of the Index rebased each year.

If the Index is below its starting level at maturity, the Plan incorporates contingent capital protection that would require the Index to have fallen by more than 50% at maturity in 2015 before capital is at risk. The capital protection cannot be breached during the investment term. The Plan also includes twice monthly liquidity during the investment term.

Xentum is one of a number of wealth management firms across the UK who work closely with Blue Sky Asset Management to offer the investment to investors.

Managing director of Xentum, Dominic Baldwin said: 'The latest GDP figures show the UK is not out of recession yet and that means interest rates are looking likely to stay low for a sustained period of time.

"Cash is offering paltry returns to savers and investors and at the same time returns from alternatives such as the stock market, are unpredictable due to its volatility. In fact, many investors feel they are stuck between a rock and a hard place, in terms of wanting viable returns on their investments but also needing to know risks to their capital are minimised.

''This groundbreaking Absolute Return Plan, from a highly regarded specialist investment boutique, gives investors really exciting returns potential, including the ability to generate positive returns even during periods when the FTSE 100 falls. In addition, capital protection is included at maturity, subject to certain conditions. It's hard to argue with the benefits of the Plan, and we certainly applaud such an innovative approach that can offer a sensible proposition for investors at this time''.

The Plan will close on 9th November. Minimum investment is £10,000 for direct investment or £7,200 for ISAs and ISA Transfers. Investors aged 50 or over can now invest £10,200 into an ISA.

In addition to individual investor availability, the Plan can be accessed through pension schemes, including SIPP and SSAS, and are also available for corporate, trustee and charity investment.
