It's Just Not the Same
Glenwood Springs, Colo. (PRWEB) November 3, 2009
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, in Glenwood Springs, Colo., has announced the winners of its 10th anniversary contest. Price and Shannon Horn, and their kids Steven and Maya, from Kansas City, Missouri, have won the grand prize: a trip for four, including airfare, lodging and activities for the whole family. The Horn family's winning video, "It's Just Not the Same," which lists the top 10 reasons they deserve to win a vacation, can be seen at http://www.glenwoodcaverns.com/contest.html.
"The Horn family video really struck a chord with us and we are so happy to award them the grand prize," explained Steve Beckley, who owns Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park with his wife Jeanne. "For 10 years, we've been working to make the Adventure Park a place where families create their memories. You can tell from their video that this was what happened when they visited us last summer. "
The Horn family has won a five-day, four-night vacation for four in Glenwood Springs, Colo., that includes roundtrip airfare to and from Denver International Airport (DIA); private, roundtrip transportation from DIA to Glenwood Springs courtesy of Colorado Mountain Express; a two-room spa suite at the AmericInn Lodge and Suites at the Caverns; a full day of fun at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, including cave tours, lunch and dinner, unlimited thrill rides and attractions, souvenir t-shirts and photographs; a half-day whitewater rafting trip on the Colorado River; a package of pool and spa services from the Glenwood Hot Springs; and $100 gift certificates from Baron's Restaurant located in the Historic Hotel Colorado and Rib City in Glenwood Springs.
"We fell in love with Glenwood Springs as soon as we drove in to town. After visiting Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park the first time -- we loved it so much we went back again before leaving town -- we saw the information about the anniversary contest," explained grand prize winner Shannon Horn. "We hoped this would be our ticket to return to this beautiful place. As we descended the mountain on the tram on our final night in Glenwood Springs, we all began brainstorming our video entry. We asked the kids what were their favorite activities and spots on vacation, and then decided to come up with the 'It's Just Not the Same' lame alternatives. We are all thrilled beyond belief that we can relive the fun with another trip."
Price Horn added, "Glenwood Springs is one of our favorite places on the planet. When we heard that we actually won the contest, there was much rejoicing and whooping and hollering and table pounding. And the kids were pretty excited, too."
Jon and Nancy Voyles of Greeley, Colorado, and Dazee Shaffer of Smithfield, Utah, were chosen as runners up and will each receive Glenwood Springs gift baskets courtesy of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
"We'd like to thank all of the co-sponsors of the contest, especially the AmericInn Lodge and Suites at the Caverns, Colorado Mountain Express and the Glenwood Hot Springs, for helping us put together the grand prize," Beckley added. "We are looking forward to giving the Price family a true Glenwood Springs welcome when they come to town next year."
