Care.com Offers A Free Weekend To Celebrate National Family Caregiver Month

From November 6-8, Care.com invites all families to use its service and contact local caregivers free of charge.

Waltham, MA (PRWEB) November 2, 2009 -- Today Care.com (www.care.com), the premier source of trustworthy care options for families, announced it will open its service for a special Free Weekend to celebrate and kick off National Family Caregiver Month. For three days, Care.com will waive its regular subscription fee and allow all care-seeking families full access to hundreds of thousands of high-quality babysitters, nannies and other caregivers for free.

News ImageThis Free Weekend begins at midnight (PST) on the morning of Friday, November 6 and extends through Sunday, November 8. During these three days, Care.com will help tens of thousands of families nationwide contact nearby care providers who are willing to help meet their needs.

This is an ideal time for families to use our service, meet local care providers and get a head start on their future child care and senior care plans.
“Care.com is running a Free Weekend to bring attention to National Family Caregiver Month and to highlight the needs families have for high-quality in-home care,” said Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com. “This is an ideal time for families to use our service, meet local care providers and get a head start on their future child care and senior care plans.”

The Care.com Free Weekend also gives families an opportunity to create lists of backup care providers like babysitters, nannies or senior home care aides and review these caregivers for future use, helping them manage their careers and care arrangements while improving work-life balance. A recent study of child care arrangements (State of Care Index) showed 82 percent of parents took time off from their jobs or altered their work schedules to solve a care crisis within the last year.

Every visitor to Care.com during the Free Weekend will experience the benefits of a paid, premium membership to the service. They can post jobs, review full profiles of caregivers in their area, contact care providers to schedule interviews, check references and run a free background check.

Care.com helps families to find babysitters, nannies, special needs care, senior home care, pet sitters, tutors and housekeepers through a national network of trusted caregivers. Families in need of quality caregivers can search by ZIP code, service and salary to find the care providers in their area.

As an added benefit to care-seeking families, caregiver profiles include references and background checks, and a team of experienced moms reviews all caregiver profiles before listing them online. These measures provide families with extra layers of confidence and security when they make important decisions regarding their family care needs.

National Family Caregiver Month is organized each November by the National Family Caregivers Association (http://www.thefamilycaregiver.org) and is a designated time every year to thank, support, educate and empower family caregivers.
