Indaer and AvCraft Support Services Announce MRO Joint Venture

FAA and EASA approval signals entry into ATR 42 and 72 heavy maintenance market, creating up to 50 new jobs in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) November 4, 2009 -- At a ceremony attended by Mr. Mark Sanford, Governor of South Carolina, AvCraft Support Services and Indaer today announced a joint venture to provide seamless regional aircraft heavy maintenance to customers throughout the Americas, creating up to 50 new jobs over the next three years.

The partnership between AvCraft, currently a leading supplier of Dornier 328 regional jet and turboprop heavy maintenance, and Indaer, an established supplier of technical services to airlines and aircraft lessors, is initially targeting the ATR 42 and 72 markets. The partners are offering heavy maintenance, refurbishment and aircraft modifications at AvCraft’s 130,000 sq ft Myrtle Beach facility.

We've already had exciting feedback from the market
The companies began working together earlier this year, when Indaer provided training for AvCraft’s employees and AvCraft acquired specialized tooling and equipment and developed technical operating procedures. This effort culminated in FAA and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval in October.

“Indaer’s technical support was key to this upgrade in our capabilities,” said Mr. Mike Hill, General Manager of AvCraft. “Our partnership gives us a strong advantage in this competitive market.”

The partnership capitalizes on the strengths of both companies. AvCraft contributes its heavy maintenance expertise while Indaer provides engineering and program management support. There are currently almost 200 ATR aircraft in service with 31 operators throughout the Americas. These modern environmentally friendly turboprop airliners are well known for their performance and efficiency.

“We’re building on our dominant position in the Dornier Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) market,” said Mr. Mike Hill, General Manager of AvCraft. “We’re already supporting customers as far away as Ecuador and Europe. Now we’ll be building our international customer base even further.”

“AvCraft has built a great reputation for the quality of its maintenance work,” said Mr. Derek Nice, CEO of Indaer. “We’re excited to be partnering with them in this seamless joint venture to offer comprehensive technical support to ATR operators in the US, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.”

Indaer has been providing maintenance planning, engineering and MRO services to ATR operators for seven years. Its customers span five continents.

“It’s important for us to expand our presence inside the US market,” said Mr. Derek Nice, CEO of Indaer. “AvCraft is the perfect partner for us. They have an outstanding workforce, well-equipped facilities in an ideal location, and an excellent reputation.”

“We’ve already had exciting feedback from the market,” added Mr. Nice. “We’re offering industry-leading quality, turnaround times and efficiencies from modern, well-equipped facilities at an attractive location on the US east coast, and our team builds on the reputation both partners have earned for our customer focus.”
