Joanne Nye, glam-net’s founder, decided to launch the boutique when she grew frustrated by the limited choice and the compromised quality of high street fashion and by being priced out of premium designer wear.

‘The boutique is aimed at people like me; women who are in their 30’s and 40’s who feel that high street fashion is too disposable and tacky, yet designer clothes have become ridiculously expensive with £900 blouses and £15,000 dresses’, says Joanne.

‘There are very few boutiques in the UK, unlike in Italy where 50% of the market is served by small clothes shops, and this impacts on consumer choice. The great thing about the Internet is that it offers women a greater freedom of choice and a greater potential to express their individual style’, continues Joanne.
