Marietta, Georgia (PRWEB) November 6, 2009 -- A & N Sod Supply has announced that the Fall Fescue sod season has begun, even though very few sod producers offer it at this time of year. By being aware of this Fescue availability, landscapers and homeowners can get a head start.
"We're pretty excited to be able to do this," said Adam Brodofsky, owner of A & N. "Most Fescue producers are only just now beginning to plant Fescue, which is a cool season grass. They plant it in the fall, which means they begin selling it to landscapers when the spring season begins. We love being able to provide it 6 months sooner than that."
Fescue sod thrives in cooler weather. The typical procedure with most sod suppliers is to begin planting Fescue in the fall, then by March or April of the following year it is ready to be installed by landscapers or homeowners. A & N is changing the status quo and making this popular sod available at a much earlier date.
"We are trying to get the word out to everyone in Georgia, that you don't have to wait until April to get fresh, mature Fescue sod," Brodofsky continued. "Some of our customers, especially landscapers who purchase Fescue sod from us wholesale, are very surprised - and pleased - to hear that."
Not only is Fescue sod available roughly 6 months before most other sod suppliers can offer it, it is also less expensive - which Brodofsky is quick to point out. A & N offers Fall Fescue at $125 per pallet, which works out to about 25 cents per square foot, and that price is locked in until spring. Other suppliers typically charge 29 cents to 32 cents per square foot. Winter Bermuda sod is also on sale.
"We can do this all because of lower overhead," Brodofsky explains. "We have a lower price and a fresher, more mature product because we broker the sod directly from the farm to the customer."
A & N Sod Supply has been supplying sod to landscapers throughout Georgia since 1999. By only dealing with the most talented and experienced farmers in the sod industry, and carefully selecting the most stable turf blends, they have built a reputation for quality and reliability in the sod industry.
