Booked Solid Rentals Expands to Provide Vacation Rental Video Production Services

The vacation rental industry is growing; as a result of both the economic slowdown as well as the number of rental properties on the market. As a result, vacation rental property owners are re-evaluating their property marketing efforts for both reach and effectiveness in bookings. A key component in educating a renter about a property, and establishing trust, is the use of video. Booked Solid Rentals is pleased to announce the launch of a new video production business for vacation property owners that will support them in maximizing their property marketing. Booked Solid Vacation Rental Videos is dedicated to creating and promoting a compelling story about each rental property.

Sausalito, CA (PRWEB) November 6, 2009 -- Booked Solid Rentals is pleased to announce the launch of a sister company, Booked Solid Vacation Rental Videos. "With the vacation rental market continuing to grow as people are focusing on more value for their money, Booked Solid wanted to provide more options for their clients to maximize their property advertising effectiveness" said Jayne Brodie, of the Booked Solid Organization.

The words every vacation rental owner wants to see!
The words every vacation rental owner wants to see!
"It's a whole new ballgame," says Douglas Quinby of PhoCusWright, a travel research firm that issued a report this year on the $25 billion-plus market.

"What's the best way to promote a vacation rental property? Hands down, it's video."
According to PhoCusWright, only about 10% of adults in the USA have booked a vacation rental, which can be anything from a one-bedroom, $50-a-night Myrtle Beach condo arranged directly through an absentee landlord to a $15,000-a-week Caribbean villa with private pool and butler. The firm estimates there are 1.2 million vacation rental units in the USA, with just over half arranged through individual owners and the rest through real estate or property management companies.

What does all this mean to the vacation rental owner? That there is a huge opportunity to reach renters that are looking for more cost-effective travel solutions, but may not have rented a vacation home before.

"What vacation rental owners need to focus on is how they can distinguish themselves from their competition" says Jayne. "While much of the focus is often on price, we've seen that when property owners really make a choice to stand out from their competition by providing extensive photos, showcasing a property video, detailing local activities in the area, and co-promoting with other local businesses, that this can be a huge in-road for garnering trust and comfort with you renter. Most renters are more interested in finding the right place for their vacation (that fits within their budget) than in nickel and diming," said Jayne.

So what are some things to consider in marketing a vacation rental? Distinguish the property by showing renters the top amenities, and really showcase what's unique about about the rental property. Many times key amenities are not highlighted properly or they are overlooked. These can include things like WiFi, full equipped kitchens, big comfortable living rooms, expansive views, luxury linens, deck furniture, or proximity to major attractions or activities. Each property will have a unique mix.

So what's the best way to promote a vacation rental property? Hands down, it's video.

Traditionally the focus has been on listing properties with the big vacation ad listing sites, including HomeAway and VRBO. While this is still a viable strategy, "our clients are getting the most bang for their buck by creating and promoting videos of their vacation rental property" added Jayne. "Videos have two main purposes in property advertising. First, they will really show the entire rental, in a way that pictures alone can't. Video tells a unique and compelling story about the property, and takes the potential renter on a guided virtual tour. Second, video will increase the property's presence in the search engines, and drive more traffic to the vacation rental's web site through distribution on YouTube and other video channels."

With YouTube alone reporting over 10 billion views just in the month of August, it's more than a growing trend. Video is changing the way that everyone uses the internet, including those looking to book vacation rental property.

Booked Solid Vacation Video Rentals understands that property owners also have a range of budgets, so they've created multiple video packages to choose from that respond to every budget. A strong story can be created from existing photos, and then animated and narrated. Or a full motion video can be created. Either way, the most important thing is that the rental owner really looks at the story behind their rental.... what makes their property unique and interesting, and then use video as a property marketing tool to promote those features in a way that quickly reaches their renter.
