Brennen Swanson Joins The House Boardshop Snowboard Team

The House Boardshop is proud to announce the addition of Brennen Swanson to their snowboard team.

Saint Paul, MN (PRWEB) November 6, 2009 -- He’s a sick rider, he’s an up and coming slayer, he already has many prestigious accomplishments, and The House had to have him. Brennen Swanson is tacking another sponsor on to his list as he comes on board, adding a little extra flavor to The House snowboard team.

The House Boardshop first caught notice of Brennen when their team manager, Mat Gustafson (Guf) coached him on the G team. Kris Magnusson, Chief Operating Officer at The House, said, “Brennan has a strong following here in the Midwest and has been known to us for some time now. A while back Mat Gustafson came to me with the opportunity of bringing Brennen onto the team. Having coached Brennen in the past, Mat has firsthand knowledge of his talents and dedication to progress within the sport. Mat has a vision of building a dream team and Brennen Swanson was one of the critical players to make that happen.”

I am super excited to be joining the team. I know The House will support me in every way, it will be needed.
Brennen has undoubtedly paid his dues to snowboarding to get to where he is today. And his dad is the one to thank for creating this shed machine. When Brennen was 3, his dad, who was a snowboard instructor at Afton Alps in Minnesota, taught him to ride. Calling Stillwater, Minn., home, Afton was only a 30-minute car ride away. Brennen admits that while growing up his dad would even let him get out of school early so they could go shred.

Brennen was advancing quickly, and his riding skills soon outgrew what Afton had to offer. So for his senior year of high school, Brennen headed out West to Vail, Colorado, where he was able to let his abilities loose. Since then, Brennen has kept his head tight in the game. He said, “Being good just doesn’t cut it anymore. You have to work out, train off the snow, snowboard year round nonstop and do anything you can find to stay ahead of the game.”

He certainly has been finding amazing ways to train off the snow and to work out. Brennen has been out in Salt Lake City training at the USSA Center of Excellence in Park City.

All that training will pay off as soon Brennen’s season gets started. His calendar is already loaded down with contests like the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix Series, the Dew Tour, the Burton Global Open and the usual filming and photo shoots, plus any other contest he might get invited to. And The House is backing him the entire way. Brennen said, “I am super excited to be joining the team. I know The House will support me in every way, it will be needed.”

Brennen already has bragging rights over things like taking first in the individual quarterpipe at the Burton New Zealand Open, going the entire season of the USSA Revolution Tour without missing the podium, and finishing in the top five at the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, all of this in the 2007/2008 season alone. With his honest hard working attitude to better himself in the sport, you know this kid is going places, and it was easy for The House to see.

The House already has a killer team, and with the skills Brennen has, he will fit in quite nicely with the other kids. Some other people that play the game of snowboarding for The House are Matt Puodziunas, Mat Gustafson (now the head coach at Windells Academy), Bev Vuillemier, Paul Bergquist, Tyler Anderson and Korey Kessler.

For those of you that don’t know, The House is an on line boardshop based out of St. Paul, Minn., which is where their outlet store is found. The House is the proud holder of the world’s largest selection of snowboard and wakeboard gear with over 180,000 square feet of warehouse space. And every square foot is jam packed from floor to ceiling with gear and accessories of your choosing.

Brennen will be checking in every now and then at The House’s blog so be sure to stop in and see how his season is going. You can also check out his sparkly new team page along with the rest of the riders at The-House.com.
