Historic Merger Creates Stronger Pipeline for Latinos Into Corporate America

National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA) to Merge with the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) creating an organization with over 14,000 members nation-wide.

Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) November 9, 2009 -- The National Board of Directors of the National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA) approved the merger of NHBA with the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA). The historic merger will create one of the largest professional organizations for Latinos in the areas of finance, accounting, business and related fields. ALPFA National will now be comprised of 38 professional chapters and over 85 collegiate chapters. According to Manny Espinoza, ALPFA CEO, the merger is significant in that it unites two organizations committed to creating opportunities for Latinos in business and will now be a joint force of resources, members and talent.

He added, "We realize students need pathways into the corporate sector, and our model has always included bringing students together with professionals at our annual convention, summits and local programs. We have seen the influence and impact our professional members have had on our students, and this merger will give more students that access. By becoming one of the largest Latino organizations, ALPFA will be more recognized by corporate America and open more doors to diversity and the talent of our members."

David Pena, Jr., NHBA's Executive Director will become Senior Vice President of Programs at ALPFA National. According to Mr. Pena, the merger is a natural step in the growth of NHBA and the expansion of opportunities and programs for the thousands of students who will now be served through ALPFA's partnerships, mentors, scholarships, and professional programs. In addition, ALPFA National will provide NHBA's Alumni with the opportunity to become members of the 38 professional chapters nation-wide.

ALPFA National advances into the 21st century as an experienced professional association dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos in the accounting, finance, and business and related professions.
