A company called "Sunnybag" from Austria found out, how to produce photovoltaic bags, that even load on cloudy days. The research and developent of the bags started in 2008. November 2009 they have started with the production.
(PRWEB) November 10, 2009 -- Sunnybag starts this November unique line of exclusive shoulder bags with integrated solar panels to charge portable electronic devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, and PDAs. With this line of shoulderbags, Sunnybag creatively confronts the important issue of our culture’s dependence on non-renewable energy resources, and offers consumers a sustainable alternative.
By integrating flexible solar technology with an output of 3 watt power, Sunnybag's goal is not only to create interest for consumers in renewable power and integrate it into daily life. They want a pv-product that really works. Every day, every weather, everywhere. Therefore Sunnybag tried hard to develop a solarbag that even can load a mobile device on cloudy days. After 14 month of research and developement, they presented there first product called "Sunnybag Business Pro"on 12.10.2009 in the Sunnybag manufacture, in Leoben, Austria.
"Our solarbags are more than a fashion statement, they are a personal statement about a commitment to sustainability, sensibility, and responsibility." said Ing. Stefan Ponsold, project leader of r&d.
Each bag has a solar panel at the back that is attached to an internal LI-Ion battery pack, charges your iPod, iPhone or cell phone as you walk or simply have your bag laying in a ray of light indoors or in your car. The first shoulderbag, the "Business Pro", made of finest darkbrown cowskin-leather includes a highly efficient 1600mAh LI-Ion battery pack, 2 flexible pv-panles with 3 watts of power output, connectors to more than 400 different mobile phones, iPhone 2G- 3GS, iPod, USB-port etc. The selling price worldwide is USD: 299,- (Euro: 199,-).
