National Geographic Television Series Stars to Visit Chester Charter School Campus
Chester Community Charter School Welcomes Rescue Ink, a Nationally Recognized, Animal Rights Advocacy Group to Campus for Assembly Presentation.
(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 10, 2009 -- Chester, Pa. November 9, 2009 – Chester Community Charter School, through its partnership with Rescue Ink, a nationally recognized animal rights advocacy organization, will host two, hour-long assembly presentations for its fourth-through-eighth-grade-students, to educate them about animals and animal cruelty. Students will be treated to live animal interactions, information regarding proper pet care and initiation into the organization’s junior deputy animal abuse officers program.

In 2009, there were 40 reported acts of animal cruelty in Pennsylvania, out of 667 reported cases nationwide, as monitored by pet-abuse.com. Thirty-nine of the reported cased ended in mortality of the animal: The most prevalent acts of animal-related violence in Pennsylvania are neglect/abandonment, hoarding and fighting.
Rescue Ink is an unconventional organization, formed to aid in battling animal abuse and neglect, and to assist existing animal-welfare agencies and shelters. Its members tour throughout the country to educate the general public about the importance of curbing animal cruelty. Rescue Ink currently has a six-part series running on the National Geographic channel that addresses animal abuse issues.
