The Long Island Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) today announced the speaker lineup for its Annual Technology Showcase and Economic Forecast on November 17th.

At this meeting, economists and employment experts will discuss their views on the Long Island economy for 2010, and the expected impact on information technology purchasing and employment. Speakers include:

“As a very difficult year comes to a close, we are looking forward to a changing – and improving - economic climate for the information technology industry,” said Barbara Viola, president, AITP Long Island Chapter. “With federal economic stimulus programs underway, and the economy possibly emerging from recession, information technology professionals are looking for any and all measurable indications of the future, to assist with their business decisions,” said Viola. “It’s an annual tradition at the AITP Long Island Chapter to bring in economic experts to address our members and offer predictions on where the economy is headed.”

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, from 11 AM to 3 PM, at the Huntington (NY) Hilton. For more details on the event and online pre-registration, visit: http://www.aitp-li.org/events/upcoming/11-17-09.html.
