Spigit Partners with The Enterprise 2.0 Conference to Manage Boston 2010 Call for Papers
Online Submission, Collaboration and Voting System Engages Community in True 2.0 Style
Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2009 -- Reflecting the true spirit of Enterprise 2.0 innovation, Spigit, the leader in social productivity software for the enterprise, has partnered with TechWeb to manage the Call for Papers for the Boston Enterprise 2.0 Conference with a more open, transparent and collaborative process.
With the launch of the new Enterprise 2.0 Conference Boston 2010 Call for Papers site, powered by Spigit's innovation and idea management platform, the Enterprise 2.0 community now has the opportunity to review session proposals and provide feedback to help refine the sessions.
"We are pleased to team with Spigit to provide a selection experience consistent with the principles of Enterprise 2.0," said Steve Wylie, General Manager for the Enterprise 2.0 Conference. "By providing an engaging environment where prospective speakers and attendees can interact prior to the event, we are shedding light on the Call for Papers process and, in the end, creating a more effective way to have the community ensure coverage of timely topics."
The new online platform, which went live on Monday, November 9, streamlines and opens up the submission process by allowing prospective speakers to submit their session proposals and receive immediate feedback from potential attendees. This feedback can be used to further refine the topic and create sessions that meet audience demand.
Those submitting to the Call for Papers will be able to post links to their proposals on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs and other social media outlets to promote their sessions and create buzz to drive input and attendance. In addition, all participants will have a number of powerful features to find proposals and track them on-site, via email and with RSS.
Previously, session proposals were submitted directly to conference organizers who compiled the data and offered it up for voting in the form of a lengthy online survey. This cumbersome process offered no way for potential attendees to provide subjective or substantive feedback to help refine the program. With the new system, proposals are made immediately available for review, and participants are encouraged to make constructive suggestions and requests.
"We are very pleased to introduce the Enterprise 2.0 community to the power and flexibility of the Spigit platform and provide a more sophisticated process for soliciting valuable ideas and input from this engaged community," said Paul Pluschkell, CEO and founder of Spigit. "I can't think of a more appropriate audience than Enterprise 2.0, which highlights the most innovative and game-changing technologies in the enterprise environment."
The Call for Papers will remain open for submission through December 18; formal voting begins in early January.
