Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Awarded Five Stars by Forbes Travel Guide & Five Diamonds by AAA
Four Seasons Resort Hualālai was the only resort on Hawaii’s Big Island, and one of only two resorts in Hawaii, to win both a Five-Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide (formerly Mobil Travel Guide) and a Five-Diamond rating from AAA, for 2010. The 243-room beach resort, which recently completed a $40 million property enhancement that included 20 new suites, a greatly expanded spa and a new beachfront restaurant, was one of only 37 U.S. lodgings to win both of these coveted awards.
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2009 -- November 10, 2009 -- Four Seasons Resort Hualalai yesterday was awarded Five Stars by the Forbes Travel Guide, formerly the Mobil Travel Guide. The honor follows on the heels of the AAA Five-Diamond Award that the resort earned last week, for the 12th consecutive year. Four Seasons Resort Hualālai is one of only 37 U.S. lodgings to earn the highest rating from both Forbes and AAA for 2010 -- and the only one on the Big Island of Hawaii.

“We are honored to receive both a Five-Star Award and a Five-Diamond Award, especially since they were awarded during a year when our resort was undergoing a $40-million enhancement,” said Robert Whitfield, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. “Not only do these distinctions make our employees proud, but they are proof that even in difficult economic times, when other resorts are cutting back, we have continued to raise the level of service and to enhance the guest experience.”
The Mobil Travel Guide brand became the Forbes Travel Guide brand in October 2009, the result of a new licensing agreement between ExxonMobil and Forbes Media. As with the Mobil star ratings, the Forbes star ratings are based on incognito physical inspections of each property by professional inspectors who evaluate hundreds of criteria. AAA Five-Diamond Awards are chosen by similarly stringent methods.
