The Adler School of Professional Psychology Announces new Master’s Program in Organizational Psychology

The Adler School of Professional Psychology Vancouver Campus announces a new master’s program in organizational psychology. With the Adler School’s focus on holism and social responsibility, the Adler School is uniquely qualified to train professionals that help business and organizations improve their working environment.

(PRWEB) November 16, 2009 -- Whether you are considering a career change to human resources or would like to advance within your current position, a graduate degree in organizational psychology can open doors.

Organizational psychology, the study of workplace behavior, is currently in demand. According to B.C./Yukon Region and the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, the future job prospects in this field are above average as more businesses are developing programs to support employees and manage work-related stress.

The Adler School of Professional Psychology Vancouver Campus is now offering a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology, a new two-year program that offers flexible weekday, weekday evening, and weekend courses.

“Designed for the working professional, this unique program provides students with the theoretical knowledge to understand individual, team, and organizational dynamics,” says Larry Axelrod, Ph.D., Program Director and Dean of the Vancouver Campus. “Graduates will have the practical skills to lead growth and change.”

With a graduate degree in organizational psychology from the Adler School, you will be equipped to bring a specialized set of skills to your workplace, drawing upon your advanced training in employee productivity, training and assessment, employee assistance programs, and human resources.

The new program prepares graduates to work in a variety of organizational development and leadership positions in business, industry and the public sector. Graduates from this program will be able to provide consultation and intervention on numerous levels, including:

  • Individual level – Personnel selection, leadership development, executive coaching, career    assessment, and counseling
  • Work group level – Team assessment, team issue resolution, and team building
  • Organizational level – Leadership practice, change management, needs analysis, policy development, evaluation, and strategic planning

“The program also provides students with insight into the individual and societal factors that can undermine engagement, development, and success,” says Dean Axelrod. “It is important to have business and industry leaders who have the tools to effectively promote healthy, productive, and more just organizations and communities.”
