Indaer Delivers ATR 42 to Colombian Government

Aerospace Technical Services Company Provides Turnkey Start-up Support for Latin America’s Newest ATR Operator

Campbellford, ON (PRWEB) November 12, 2009 -- Indaer today disclosed a previously unannounced contract to acquire, modify and support an ATR 42 for the Colombian Government. The aircraft was delivered to the Government at a ceremony in Bogota on October 30th.

“We worked with the government to define the mission and then to evaluate potential alternative aircraft types,” said Mr. Daniel Restrepo, Indaer’s Director, Technical Services. “After we selected the ATR 42, we assisted the government in choosing the right aircraft from those available on the market. We then purchased the aircraft and developed and implemented a package of modifications.”

We’re recognized for our expertise in ATR technical support
Indaer acquired an ATR 42 operated by French regional airline Airlinair in September 2009. The aircraft was painted by Latecoere Aeroservices in Montpellier, France and then modified for the government mission by Indaer’s MRO Services Group at Rionegro International Airport in Medellin, Colombia. Indaer provided a turn-key start-up support package, including flight training, ground training, spares provisioning and ground support equipment.

The Colombian Government is the country’s second ATR operator to opt for total technical support from Indaer. In a contract first signed in 2006, Indaer provides the same support for Arkas, which operates ATR 42 aircraft on domestic cargo operations. Indaer will provide in-service support to the government from a line maintenance base in Bogota and an engineering, logistics and program management office in Medellin.

“We’re recognized for our expertise in ATR technical support,” said Mr. Restrepo. “We’ve provided ATR start-up services and on-going engineering and maintenance for airlines and leasing companies in Brazil, Curacao, France, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Ireland, Mexico, Venezuela, the Ukraine and the USA.”
