Dedicated to retail leaders interested in improving performance, the Symposium explores new best practices in the following areas: store openings, remodels, rollouts, fixtures, store closings, relocations and reverse logistics. "The Symposium provides structured discussion for senior leaders within retail, fixture and construction segments to examine their collective challenges and find effective solutions," explains Jeff Faust, VP and General Manager of Koch Logistics. "The educational forum among a retail peer group offers a unique opportunity to learn and discuss ways to reduce costs while making the most of available resources."

The Symposium will include featured speakers Ken Buschle and Dr. Brian Gibson. Buschle, LEED professional and accredited architect by the U.S. Green Building Council, was the 2008 recipient of the Southwest Florida American Institute of Architects "Architectural Achievement" award. Brian Gibson, Ph.D., is a professor of supply chain management (SCM) at Auburn University. He will outline the findings of a recent retail supply chain study co-sponsored by Auburn University, Fortna and RILA, that provided insights into the challenges facing the retail industry, as well as the capabilities needed to attain supply chain excellence.

The Symposium will be facilitated by Mary Ann O'Neil, founding principal of One to One Leadership. She has led workshops in the US and internationally on leading and managing. The 2010 Best Practices Symposium is scheduled for January 27 - 29, 2010 in Marco Island, Fla. Retailers can learn more at storeopeningsolutions.com/symposium10.htm
