While many could say that charitable fund-raising has been a challenge in the current economic climate, celebrity auctioneer and COO of Brand-in Entertainment, Tere Morris, is proving otherwise. "2009 has been a very successful year and I'm looking forward to the upcoming fund-raising season now that we are exiting the economic downturn." According to Ms. Morris, fundraising events that are relevant and exciting have the best opportunity to reach their objectives as the economy rebounds. "It has been my experience that people are more generous and in the mood to celebrate after periods of uncertainty. Attendees will now give more of their conserved cash to help others."
Tere Morris started this charity season as the live auctioneer for the Bienvenidos.org fundraiser, 'The Drive to Help Families Thrive' golf and dinner extravaganza this past October. Bienvenidos' CEO and President, Ritchie Geisel commented on the success of their event, "What comes to mind when I think of Tere Morris is her generosity of spirit, her great ability to energize a room, and her contagious enthusiasm."
Ms. Morris is looking forward to her next event, the first annual gala for 'Friends Without a Border.' This highly anticipated fundraising gala is slated for December 10, 2009 at the famed Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California. Founded in 1995 by the noted photographer Kenro Izu, FWAB's mission is to raise funds to support the Angkor Hospital for Children that FWAB built in Cambodia. Invited guests include Eva Longoria Parker, Elizabeth Banks, Eva Mendes, Mena Suvari, and many other notable celebrities.
Tere Morris has exceeded fundraising expectations for some other notable causes this year, including; UCP Wheels for Humanity, Love Cures Cancer, the YMCA Focus Awards 2010, and AIDS LA. Having been rated by Biz Bash Magazine as one of "Four of L.A.'s Top Auctioneers," Ms. Morris offers some final advice for those involved with fundraising this season, "When offering a silent or live auction at your event, make sure your attendees can contribute on varying levels with a good balance of high-ticket and unique, but moderately priced auction items."
