Dodgeville, Wis. (PRWEB) November 17, 2009
Everyone has a favorite item of clothing they would love to wear all year ‘round, but sometimes the seasons just don’t allow. Last fall, Lands’ End introduced the Dory™ Jacket that was temperature rated for cool, fall days. This winter, Lands’ End launches an entire Dory collection with toasty 550 fill power down that offers winter fashionistas the style they crave with the extra warmth for frigid winter days.
“Women loved the Dory Jacket last fall and we heard them loud and clear that they wanted to keep wearing it all winter long, so we are excited to offer an extended collection – Dory styles designed with winter in mind,” said Scott Whittingham, senior merchandise manager for Lands’ End®. “More than 25 years of outerwear expertise went into creating the Dory Down collection. We know our customers will be thrilled with the results.”
Getting Down with Warmth and Style
According to Whittingham, in addition to fashion, women are demanding more warmth from their around-town coats. With the new Dory Down collection of jackets, coats and vests, women need not worry. Each is rated to be comfortable in temperatures well below freezing. In fact, the full-length Dory Down Coat is temperature rated to a bitter -30oF!
While Dory Down offers a flattering feminine shape, it also incorporates performance features usually reserved for heavy-duty winter coats. The shell’s exclusive DriOff™ finish repels water all winter long, while knitted inner cuffs prevent wind from blowing up the sleeves. All Dory Down styles sport a detachable, down-filled hood with removable, faux fur lining to make even the coldest winter days a bit more bearable.
A’dory’able Feet
Snow flurries don’t have to signal the end of fashionable footwear. The new Dory Snow Boot helps keep feet stylish with crisscrossed laces and faux fur trim. But it also offers plenty of functionality to keep feet warm and dry, Whittingham explained. An antimicrobial sock liner and removable cushioned EVA insole keep the boot fresh and comfortable, while rear reflectors improve visibility for nighttime safety.
Join the Big Warm-up
From now until November 30, Lands’ End and the National Coalition for the Homeless invite everyone to donate a gently used coat at one of the Big Warm-up donation bins in the 252 Lands’ End Shops at Sears and 13 Inlets across the country.
