The developers of Ohtama, a quiet subdivision above the town of Evergreen, Colorado, have announced they are encouraging their new owners to Go Green! “Our architectural control committee will be reviewing each building plan to encourage as much energy efficiency as possible, as that will help our environment,” says Mack and Andi Durbin, Broker/Owners of Rooftop Realty, exclusive marketing agents for Ohtama.
There are many different materials that can be utilized in new green built construction. Wrapping your home to keep the outside temperatures out is just one way to achieve energy efficiency. Other ideas include proper types of insulation, covered entryways and high R-valued windows. Since each home site is a half acre or more, solar power is a possibility. “We are encouraging our homeowners to include environmentally friendly designs wherever possible,” stated Don Bain, developer of Ohtama.
