Celebrate Earth Day’s 40th Anniversary with inspirational and life-changing education! On Saturday April 24, 2010 join Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo, in partnership with CBS-2, KCAL-9, KOST 103.5FM radio, local and national magazines (KIWI, Delicious Living, Valley Life, Valley Scene, LA Parent, North Valley Community News, Life Media and others), neighborhood councils and businesses as they present a free community event that is set to be the largest Earth Day celebration in the greater Los Angeles area.
This will be Highland Hall Waldorf School’s second year as host sponsor to this unique event that promises a day filled with non-stop education for all those willing to learn – kids, parents, grandparents, business owners, teachers and students. All workshops are free to attendees covering a wide range of hot topics including Natural Solutions for Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism, Vaccines, Sustainable Landscape Conversions, Edible Gardens, Gray Water, Water Conservation and Pollution Prevention, plus much more. Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance online at http://wcwpexpo.com/schedule.html.
Children will be thoroughly engaged by the Enrichment Village with hands-on projects, experiential learning activities and music, while their families enjoy the many exhibitors offering information and products for sustainable living, natural product and food samples, exciting raffle prize giveaways, healthy, delicious foods, and a Main Stage featuring entertainment ‘surprises’ for all ages.
Environmental speakers will include the award-winning Alec Loorz, the 14-year-old founder of “Kids vs. Global Warming”; Marcus Ericksen, Ph.D., and Anna Cummins, members of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation and creators of JunkRaft – a vessel built out of 15,000 plastic bottles and a Cessna 310 to raise awareness about plastics polluting our oceans, as well as many others. Please bring your own reusable water bottle to fill at the LifeSource water station, as this year we have gone plastic-bottle free. You can be sure there will be plenty of clean drinking water – just bring your own bottle.
The Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo is the premier natural parenting and family expo that introduces and educates families, professionals and friends about the benefits of sustainable living practices, non-toxic products, organic foods, holistic medicine and enrichment learning programs. Our mission is to educate the community about important health and environmental issues and provide them with the resources and tools necessary to protect their families, and the planet.
WCWP Expo is the brainchild of Kathy Arnos, a California-based mother, editor of Eco Family News, author and producer, who recognized a need for guidance and education in the community. “My hope is that the Expo offers families a living handbook for inspiring children and adults to become positive role models who will help create empowered, balanced families and a healthier planet for our future.”
