Atlanta, GA (Vocus) November 21, 2009
Mike Peterson may be a hard-hitting linebacker on the field, but it is his dedication to community outreach as a philanthropist off the field which garners just as much recognition. Peterson, an 11-year veteran defensive standout currently with the Atlanta Falcons, has teamed up with Feed the Hungry Foundation and corporate partners PFG Miltons to provide 100 needy families with meals and support for the Thanksgiving season.
It was important to Peterson to align his Mike Peterson Foundation with other organizations that share similar visions for nurturing and sustaining youth and families in crisis, therefore, a partnership with Feed the Hungry Foundation was a natural fit. For many decades, Feed the Hungry Foundation has been able to help people in the community who are in a financial bind meet one of life’s most basic needs…nutrition. New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, internationally recognized as a premiere faith-based organization that leads extensive ministries, catering to children, families, community, business and public outreach initiatives, will be the site location.
On Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 100 pre-selected families will receive meals and support for Thanksgiving holiday courtesy of the Mike Peterson Foundation, Feed the Hungry Foundation and PFG Miltons. Mike Peterson will be on site at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church located at 6400 Woodrow Rd, Lithonia, GA, from 4p-6p to hand out food and meet and greet the families. Media is invited to come cover the distribution event.
