Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) November 27, 2009
Newly appointed Acting CEO of CEC Network Mr. Charles L. Ivey has been involved in the education sector for over 25 years as a founding shareholder with numerous educational companies, serving both in an executive capacity and as a board member. Mr. Ivey has been actively involved with companies that have provided student financing for higher education pursuits, web-based search engines for scholarships, K-12 supplementary mathematics tutoring and post graduate certification programs both in the fields of information technology and pharmaceutical engineering. All of these products and services have been Canadian developed with many being exported.
A strong advocate of Canada’s educational system with its international reputation in providing universal quality education, Mr. Ivey founded and chaired the Canadian Education Industry Summit (CEIS) as an annual forum for educational institutions to share knowledge in the global practices of export, partnership and finance. As an extension to the CEIS, Mr. Ivey also founded in 2004 the Canadian Education Trade Alliance (CETA) to support the development of a national education export consortium to promote Canadian product and services abroad with the goal of contributing to the economic advancement among educational institutions and training suppliers.
Through the CEIS and CETA, Mr. Ivey has collaborated with various national education associations in promoting Canada’s education institutions, products and services including CMEC, CBIE, AUCC, ACCC, CEA, CODE, and ERDI.
“Bringing with him a wealth of experience in international development, Mr. Ivey’s global vision for Canadian education export is in strategic alignment with CEC Network’s mandates and challenges,” remarks Chairman of the Board Mathieu Bergeron. “Under his lead, CEC Network looks forward to identifying and creating new business and partnership opportunities to improve the competitiveness of the Canadian education community in the international marketplace.”
Based in the Toronto office, Mr. Ivey will be working closely with the Vancouver and overseas staff in developing resources and solutions to Canadian education providers.
