XA Worldwide is launching a revolutionary dispatch technology that will change the way transportation networks and systems work worldwide, which will be debuting in Colombia in 2010. Last month XA Worldwide named this new technology TransGuardia –a name that symbolizes a new form of secure and efficient payment processing and dispatch servicing. TransGuardia utilizes a combination of SMS, GIS, GPS, and mobile payment processing technologies to provide important information to passengers and drivers respectively.
The first company to adopt this innovative dispatch solution is Tax Belen, a Medellin based taxi company, which has over 200 cabs working under this new technology since March 2009. XA Worldwide is planning to equip an additional 6000 taxis in Medellin, followed by a nationwide technology integration initiative, including major cities such as Bogota, Cali, Baranquilla and Cartagena. By integrating the GPS and GIS technologies to a SMS solution, the dispatch centers are able to direct taxi, ambulance, and bus drivers to their destinations in a timely and efficient manner.
