Millerbernd Laser achieved ISO certification in less than 6 months – an almost-unheard of accomplishment, noted Farid Currimbhoy, senior vice president. He claimed the company’s policies and procedures already in place led to the quick certification. “We simply formalized many of our procedures and processes,” he said. “Our Quality Policy is the cornerstone of what we are about. It provides focus, clear direction to our employees, better organization and efficiency.”

Receiving the ISO 9001:2008 certification reinforces Millerbernd Laser’s commitment to the overall customer experience including quality and on-time delivery, Currimbhoy added. “It’s hard to believe the ISO standard actually makes us more customer-oriented than before. The ISO 9001:2008 standard is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to this standard, companies must implement a quality management system (QMS) embracing the activities of the company from staff training, to customer interaction, the design and fabrication of products, the purchasing of materials and services and the delivery of the products. This is done using:

• a set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business;
• monitoring processes to ensure they are effective;
• keeping detailed and adequate records;
