Hillsborough, NH (PRWEB) December 4, 2009
Waterville Valley Resort will be offering nine Stay and Ski Packages for the upcoming ski season, this year adding a new twist to their great value deals. Guests can now enjoy an extra late 3:00 p.m. checkout time on all packages for 2009 and 2010, excluding holiday periods. The ski area opens on December 4, 2010.
Adding the extra-late checkout feature to Waterville Valley’s Stay and Ski packages allows skiers valuable added time to take advantage of all that the mountain has to offer, said Jim Wefers, President of the Waterville Valley Resort Association.
“Our new extra late check-out takes away the hassle of feeding the kids breakfast, packing them up, packing the car up and rushing to the slopes in time for a 9:30 a.m. check in at ski school,” said Wefers. “This latest perk allows guests to take the shuttle to the mountain and enjoy Sunday morning prime time on the ski slopes, where they belong. We expect guests will come back around 2:00 p.m., pack up the car to head out by 3:00 p.m. and still be home in plenty of time to get ready for Monday. It’s like adding 5 hours to their ski weekend. You’ve got to love it.”
One of the Northeast’s leading big mountain ski areas, Waterville Valley has the greatest variety of trails south of Franconia Notch. Located in the heart of the White Mountain National forest, Waterville Valley’s natural mountain slopes offer great views of the New Hampshire landscape that are unmarred by development.
Skiing has been a popular pastime in the Valley since the 1930s, but it was Olympic Skier Tom Corcoran who purchased the resort in the 1960s, developed the master plan and made Waterville Valley a top New England ski destination. Considered the first planned ski resort in the Northeast, Waterville Valley is a pedestrian friendly village with an open town square surrounded by shops, restaurants and lodging. Skiers can relax and leave the driving to the resort once they arrive by utilizing the free bio-diesel transportation around town and to the ski area. The resort also has ample actives for family through the recreation department, a health club with heat pool and indoor tennis and one of the most extensive Nordic networks in America.
Waterville Valley Stay & Ski Deals also include access to the White Mountain Athletic Club, skating at the indoor ice arena and use of the shuttle bus. Families will also love the selection of “kids ski free” deals. Packages can be booked online at waterville.com or by calling 1-800-GO VALLEY.
