The site really cuts down on guesswork, and with our links to online purchase options, givers needn’t worry about fighting traffic and crowds at the mall and post office.

WhatisAverage.com launched its beta site (http://www.WhatisAverage.com) today with an interactive tool that allows consumers to find answers to questions ranging from "What is the most popular gift for tweeners?" to "What do wives age 35 to 44 want for Christmas?" and even "What do you get for grandparents who have everything?" To help time-pressed shoppers, the site links the answers to products that can be purchased online. The site offers relief to consumers struggling to decide what to buy, where to buy it, and which is the most cost-effective and hassle-free to way to purchase and deliver the gift this year.

To keep things in focus, http://www.WhatisAverage.com displays the top 10 answers. As more and more visitors participate in the survey, the site updates every few minutes to show the latest and most popular responses. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the survey to build up "votes" for gifts they want but which haven’t yet cracked the top 10. Visitors can also create new surveys or send existing surveys as "hints" to friends and family members who need need a little help on choosing the best gift.

WhatisAverage.com has a broad range of demographic responses ranging from teenagers ages 13-17 to military service members overseas. Dan Coomes, President/CEO of WhatisAverage.com, hopes to provide the easiest way to shop for Christmas this year. "The site really cuts down on guesswork, and with our links to online purchase options, givers needn’t worry about fighting traffic and crowds at the mall and post office," says Dan, who was inspired to create this feature by his own holiday shopping frustration. "I got tired of guessing what my friends and family wanted for Christmas over the past years and then wondering, 'Did I purchase the right gift?' By surveying thousands of people just like the person you’re shopping for, consumers can avoid those stresses this year."
