Modern Survey to Develop Opportunities with Emerging Markets in South America

President Don MacPherson will Accompany Governor Pawlenty on a Trade Mission to Brazil and Chile.

South America's emerging markets are ripe for Minnesota businesses looking to expand their exports.

The Minnesota Trade Office and Governor Tim Pawlenty will depart this week on a State of Minnesota Business Development Mission to South America. The 44-member delegation, including Modern Survey President Don MacPherson, consists of top business leaders, academics, and government workers from the state of Minnesota. This marks the third time MacPherson has been a delegate for a Minnesota Trade Office mission abroad, including previous trips to China and Israel.

“South America’s emerging markets are ripe for Minnesota businesses looking to expand their exports,” Governor Pawlenty said. “Our trade mission will help Minnesotans make connections and build relationships with new trading partners in Brazil and Chile.”

With an itinerary that includes stops in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Santiago, Chile, the delegation will participate in market and industry presentations, round table discussions with business leaders and government officials, networking receptions, and site visits.
