We are happy to help EMWD achieve its goals to improve operating efficiencies and lower expenses. We encourage agencies and municipalities to contact us to take advantage of existing piggy-backable contracts, thus saving the time and expense of the RFP procedure.
San Diego, CA (Vocus) December 1, 2009
RMJ Technologies, a fleet management GPS vehicle tracking solutions provider, announced today that Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has selected and implemented its fleet management solution to wirelessly monitor GPS location, engine diagnostics and emissions for its entire fleet. RMJ Technologies has supplied EMWD with the Networkfleet wireless fleet management system that combines GPS vehicle tracking technology with engine diagnostics to improve the productivity and efficiency of fleet operations.
EMWD supplies potable water, wastewater collection and treatment, and recycled water to a community of approximately 675,000 people in the Western Riverside County including eight local water agencies and municipalities that have their own water departments. With a service area of approximately 555 square miles, EMWD is the fifth largest water district in California. EMWD employees approximately 650 employees and operates a fleet of over 600 vehicles which includes approximately 350 on-the-road vehicles including sedans, pick-up trucks, vans, heavy duty service trucks, dump trucks, and tractor trailers
"RMJ Technologies provided EMWD GPS with a system that is economical, easy to use, and provides the District valuable information on our fleet operations," said Mark Iverson, Director of Maintenance at Eastern Municipal Water District. "The information provided by the Networkfleet GPS system is helping EMWD to reduce costs and improve safety. RMJ Technologies' has been very responsive helping us set up the GPS system. Their knowledge of the technology, timely answers, and their willingness to help solve problems is excellent. The system is already showing it is effective for reducing costs. During the first two months of operations, the total fuel use has dropped approximately 15 percent resulting in an estimated $21,000 in savings. We expect a continued reduction in fuel use now that we have the Networkfleet GPS system".
Networkfleet's patented GPS vehicle tracking system reads real-time diagnostics from the vehicle's engine to allow fleet managers to monitor precise information such as exact vehicle speed, fuel consumption, and emissions status for all vehicles. Fleet managers log in to a secure Web site to view vehicle performance data and receive reports emailed directly to their in-box daily, weekly, or monthly.
"RMJ Technologies works with a variety of public agencies and private companies to help them use GPS vehicle tracking systems to reduce fuel costs, lower maintenance expenses, and reduce emissions," said Jerome Toliver, CEO, RMJ Technologies. "We are happy to help EMWD achieve its goals to improve operating efficiencies and lower expenses. We encourage agencies and municipalities to contact us to take advantage of existing piggy-backable contracts, thus saving the time and expense of the RFP procedure."
