Allegria Hotel is a new recipient of the prestigious Five Star Diamond Award, an honor bestowed annually by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences to top-notch establishments worldwide. Hotel Owner Allen Rosenberg personally accepted the award at the property’s grand opening party on November 19. Joseph Cinque, president of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, was on-site to present the official certificate of achievement.

“We’re honored to accept this award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences,” said Allen Rosenberg, Owner of Allegria Hotel. “As a staff, we set a goal to meet and exceed the level of standards set by the Academy and will strive to do the same in the coming years.”

Opened in September 2009 on the south shore of Long Island, Allegria is a beachfront luxury hotel featuring 112 guestrooms and 31 luxurious suites, inventive American cuisine by Chef Todd Jacobs and state-of-the-art meeting space. The property will also debut a roof-top zero-edge pool, spa by Joseph Christopher and a casual dining venue, Jacks on the Rocks, in summer 2010.

The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences is world renowned for awarding excellence in the global travel and luxury services sector. Each year, the Academy bestows its coveted International Star Diamond Award exclusively to Five-Star properties, destinations, chefs and luxury products that are deemed to be at the pinnacle of quality. As establishments are selected and critiqued by an International Board of Trustees, made up of respected industry leaders and world travelers, the award is a prestigious emblem of achievement and recognizes a commitment to true excellence in the hospitality industry.

Valuable sources from around the globe routinely submit nominations to the Academy for review. The Board of Trustees then refines these selections down to those who qualify for the ultimate evaluation. The Academy’s evaluations are based primarily on hospitality, attitude, quality, cleanliness and above all, service.
