Taking a symbolic action to wear cause-related footwear helps advocates be aware of the cause and act on it.

“Seifuku is Japanese for “conquer,” and that is the concept our company embraces,” Mark Hampton, owner of Seifuku said. “Seifuku provides a therapeutic mechanism for causes like World AIDS Day. The idea is for the wearer to take something negative, like AIDS, and place it under their foot, all day stomping out and conquering the negative influence – stomping out AIDS.”
New figures released by the World Health Organization and UNAIDS estimate the number of new HIV infections have declined each year by about 17% from 2001 to 2008, but for every five people infected, only two begin receiving treatment. This year’s World AIDS Day theme is Universal Access and Human Rights. There is a critical link between universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and respect for human rights in the response to the global AIDS epidemic.
Companies like Seifuku are devoted to supporting and “stomping out” global crises like AIDS. According to Hampton, his company’s goal is to take action to relieve humanity from the causes of suffering.
“At Seifuku, we recognize that HIV/AIDS is a cause of suffering to many, and has the ability to be amplified by human behavior. We strive to promote awareness, attitudes and behavior to the contrary. Taking a symbolic action to wear cause-related footwear helps advocates be aware of the cause and act on it. Our intention is to serve as yet another catalyst to raise awareness for AIDS prevention and awareness, and to have it extend well beyond World AIDS Day.”

Seifuku (Say-Foo-Koo) is a custom footwear brand, gaining national recognition through its unique and creative promotional items. Seifuku is Japanese for “conquer,” and that is the point our company embraces. Conquer illness. Conquer disease. Conquer hunger. Our unique line of footwear products allows individuals to conquer anything and everything that stands in their way.
The idea for Seifuku footwear grew out of the concept of Feng Shui, an art that includes strategic placement of objects for good luck. While Feng Shui is most commonly associated with the arrangement of furniture in a room to create a more inviting space for both mind and body, the basic principle can apply to almost anything. In this case, the concept is applied to footwear.
Imagine being able to take an extremely negative aspect of your life and place it under your foot, all day stomping out the negative influence – stomping out cancer, stomping out AIDS, stomping out your adversaries. Nearly every culture can trace back in its history a time when great significance was in the notion of keeping enemies or evils underfoot. Seifuku simply applies this principle to the causes and concerns of people in the 21st century.
