Irvine, CA (PRWEB) December 2, 2009
Operation Technology, Inc. (OTI), developer of the ETAP (http://www.etap.com) enterprise solution for electrical power systems, announced that an additional 35 educational institutions worldwide have participated in ETAP Power Lab educational program in 2009. Educational institutions including Clemson University, Texas A&M, and Illinois Institute of Technology here in the United States, along with Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, Curtin University of Technology located in Perth, Australia, and the University of Bahrain are just a few of the universities using ETAP in conjunction with their educational curriculum.
As a technology leader, OTI is committed to not only providing essential learning tools for power engineering students of today, but also to help launch the careers of the power engineers of tomorrow. OTI continues to show commitment and support by having thus far offered educational licenses to over 450 colleges and universities worldwide, including ETAP Power Labs, continuing education and training events, a state-of-the-art learning center at their corporate head quarters in Irvine, as well as distance learning programs.
"For more than a decade, the power industry in general has seen a decline in students electing to specialize in Power Engineering…", says Dr. Farrokh Shokooh, President/CEO of OTI, "….and as part of our ongoing commitment to education, OTI will continue to support and foster the next generation of engineers."
University of Southern Indiana Professor, Dr. David E. Schultz had this to say, "Using ETAP software in our electric power course provides students with a unique experience in analyzing real world electric system issues. They have a great opportunity to simulate and study issues common in industrial plants and electric utility systems with state-of-the-art software. ETAP better equips our students to advance in their chosen fields of interest. As graduates they are better prepared and trained in electrical design and analysis."
Many engineering and technical schools across the globe are participating in OTI sponsored ETAP educational programs, giving tomorrow's engineer leaders a priceless learning opportunity. For inquiries on obtaining new Educational Licenses, faculty is encouraged to contact their local ETAP office.
