FEIN Power Tools (http://www.feinus.com), a world-renowned power tool manufacturer, recently launched its new line of WS 14 compact angle grinders. These tools provide benefits that aren’t found on competing grinders—including TipStart, an easy-to-use switchless power option unique to FEIN machines that delivers optimum safety and convenience.

“These grinders are smaller and generate less vibration than other machines, making them easier to use,” said Vince Grlovich, vice president of sales, FEIN Power Tools, Inc. “They also provide higher powered motors and additional safety features. Overall, they deliver the best value on the market.”

The range of WS 14 angle grinders covers the entire 5” to 6” grinding bandwidth. The four models of the FEIN WSG angle grinder with a nominal power consumption of 1,200 watts are suitable for disc diameters of 5” to 6”. The speed of the WSG 14-70 E can be easily adjusted between 2,500 rpm and 7,000 rpm, making it a truly universal angle grinder. The FEIN angle grinder WSS 14-125 and the safety angle grinders WSG 10-115 T and WSS 14-125 T also are equipped with FEIN’s patented quick-action tool clamping system QuickIN.

The TipStart function with Auto Stop, developed and patented by FEIN, is safe and comfortable, requiring the user to hold down only one of four buttons while using the tool. The disc begins to stop just seconds after the button has been released, preventing dangerously long overrun periods. The safety hood is an integral part of the machine and cannot be removed. The innovative light conductor switch concept and the dust-proof arrangement of the four button units further extend this angle grinder’s service life.

Also contributing to the longer service life of FEIN’s WS 14 compact angle grinders is the single stable unit formed by the motor and gear head. The field magnet and armature are fitted to prevent twisting. The motor structure is self-supporting, and the optimized cool air guide delivers high airflow, with extra-wide collectors to ensure better temperature distribution. The tools also have additional features to protect them against dust, reducing the likelihood of breakdowns.

The low-maintenance high-power motor delivers high torque levels and can withstand permanent loads up to 1,800 watts, preventing damage to the disc during operation. The ergonomic shape—resulting from optimum positioning of the motor in the housing—enables fatigue-free work with little effort, even with continual use.
Professional metalworkers recognize the quality, comfort and durability that FEIN grinders deliver. “This grinder appears to have been designed by someone who uses a grinder all day long,” said an employee from Hopewell Designs, Inc., of the new WS 14 compact angle grinder. “It fits my hand better than any grinder I’ve used in 30 years.”

An end-user at AccuTech Marine Propeller, Inc., agreed with that opinion. “It’s comfortable to hold, with good weight and good control from various hand positions and it doesn’t bog down under heavy grinding,” he said. “I like the compact size and the cord length is excellent.”
