TDCI, Inc. announced today that Regal Marine has selected TDCI’s BuyDesign guided selling and configuration software to provide enhanced quoting and ordering capabilities to the company’s extensive dealer network.

TDCI, Inc. (TDCI), the leading provider of configurator-based software solutions, announced today that Regal Marine Industries (Regal Marine), a world leader in the design and manufacturing of luxury performance boats, has selected TDCI’s BuyDesign guided selling and configuration software to provide enhanced quoting and ordering capabilities to the company’s extensive dealer network. BuyDesign is a comprehensive solution developed to streamline the sales process for customized products. BuyDesign helps companies that manufacture products with a wide range of features, options, and dimensions increase sales by becoming ‘easy to do business with’ while at the same time reducing order processing time, cost, and errors.

“We chose BuyDesign as the platform for our new dealer system because it combines a powerful product configurator with multiple guided selling, quoting and ordering functions that will make it even easier for our dealers to sell Regal Marine boats,” said Chris Caines, Regal Marine Director of IT. “We were also impressed with TDCI’s experience in the boat industry, and in their vision of how to apply configuration technology to streamline our sales and manufacturing processes.”

Regal Marine will deploy BuyDesign Channel Sales along with BuyDesign Configurator to dealers via the Internet. Using BuyDesign, dealers will be able to configure and place floor plan orders, as well as develop customer quotes. While developing a quote, dealers will have the ability to analyze their margin given available incentives and other factors. Regal Marine will also leverage BuyDesign’s intuitive product configurator and extensive visualization capabilities to provide a guided selling experience dealers can use interactively with customers to explore the various models and options Regal Marine offers.

When orders are placed, BuyDesign will automatically generate a configuration-specific bill of material (BOM) which will be passed along with the sales order to the company’s manufacturing systems to drive production.
