Organize.com, Inc. (http://www.organize.com), a leading retailer of home storage and organization consumer products announces their Cyber Monday and Thanksgiving weekend sales results. The company reported a 45% increase in sales versus last year’s Cyber Monday sales figures. The increase set an all-time record for a one day increase in the 11-year history of Organize.com.

“We are very pleased and a little bit surprised by this increase. We understand the current status or our national economy and realize we are very fortunate to report these results,” says Terry Shearer, Founder and President of Organize.com. “Fortunately we have been able to retain our entire team of employees who we believe are vital to our success.”

While Black Friday officially kicks off the holiday shopping season for brick and mortar retailers, online retailers also experienced high traffic that resulted in a spike in sales kicking off Thanksgiving weekend shopping, special sales and promotions. In addition to Cyber Monday sales, the company reported an overall increase of 22% for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

“While we hoped for a successful holiday weekend, the 22% increase for Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend was beyond our expectations”, says Deborah Shearer, VP of Marketing and Merchandising. “We were careful in our planning and assortments this year, making certain that we offered items at various affordable price points. We did see our customers shop our seasonal core categories of holiday and china storage to take advantage of free shipping or sale pricing on those items. Additionally we experienced increased sales in stocking stuffers and gifts under $10 and $25. Shoppers also purchased various items to decorate their homes; where they will spend a lot of time this holiday season.”

National Cyber Monday sales were up 13.7% compared to Cyber Monday 2008, as reported by leading marketing agencies. National Black Friday sales were up as well, reported at a 24.1% increase from 2008.
