Quintel offers the only antenna solutions that enable global carriers to add services and technologies with separate tilt control while continuing to maintain spatial diversity. Spatial diversity is a configuration of two antennas that are physically spaced (i.e., spatially diverse) to combat signal fading and improve signal quality for wireless phones. This is especially significant in suburban and rural areas where simple polar diversity does not address "deep fades."

The Quintel Solution
Quintel's patented QTilt technology enables two independent remote electrical tilts within one standard-sized, completely passive antenna. Many wireless operators utilize two physical antennas per sector in their cell sites in order to achieve spatial diversity. However, when deploying a new technology in the same frequency band, operators often lose the QoS enabled by space diversity, e.g., using 2 cross-polar antennas, one for the existing and one for the new technology. Quintel's independent tilt enables independent optimization of each technology while still maintaining spatial diversity in order to maximize network capacity, coverage, and quality. An example application of the Quintel solution is when wireless operators deploy 3G with independent tilt, without degrading 2G due to loss of spatial diversity. Spatial diversity in certain environments can offer 1-3dB gain and prevent deep fades.
