Eco-Friendly, Hi-Tech Vending Machines that Combat Poor Performance & Obesity to Debut in Whistler & Vancouver in January of 2010.

Health-conscious residents, visitors and athletes of Whistler and Vancouver can rejoice. Gone are the days where the only vending machine options are antiquated, ugly machines that offer performance-hindering junk food. A new breed of automated retailer is here, and just in time for the world’s largest display of health & athleticism - the 2010 Winter Olympics. Equipped with digital LCD screens, credit-card readers, and eco-friendly, energy-saving features, H.U.M.A.N. Healthy Vending machines provide only energy-boosting, performance-enhancing foods and beverages.

“This area is considered to be one of the healthiest places in the world regarding outdoor recreation, yet convenient access to nutritional snacks and beverages is not readily available,” explains Clare Smith, Whistler resident and local H.U.M.A.N. operator partner. “We need to back-up our reputation as a premier center of health, athletics and environmental-sustainability by integrating eco-friendly, healthy vending machines across town.”

Designed for high-end hotels, secondary schools, health clubs, and recreation areas (i.e. ski lodges), H.U.M.A.N.’s healthy vending machines will roll-out in Whistler this January. The machines are 100% free to locations, and the proceeds generated from the machines are split between the location, the local machine operator and charities that fight childhood obesity and malnutrition.

The precise locations of the premium healthy vending machines will be finalized by the end of December according to Andy Mackensen, Managing Partner of H.U.M.A.N. Andy reported that the H.U.M.A.N. location development team is currently in Whistler and Vancouver determining which locations will be the best fit for H.U.M.A.N.’s machines.

”I can’t imagine a better time to launch in the region,” said Sean Kelly, biomedical engineer and CEO of H.U.M.A.N. “With the new year being the pinnacle of health activity during the calendar year and the Winter Olympics coming into town in February, now is the perfect time to give locations the opportunity to offer their customers the healthy food and beverage service they want & deserve.”

H.U.M.A.N. Healthy Vending is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. The company was founded in 2007 to Help Unite Man And Nutrition by making healthy eating more convenient via the placement of premium healthy vending machines across the globe. H.U.M.A.N. gives 10% of all proceeds to charities that fight childhood obesity and malnutrition.
