Sonoma, CA (PRWEB) December 9, 2009
Nelson Family of Companies ranks in the Top 10 in Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) recently published results of its “Best Staffing Firms to Work For 2009” survey. Staffing firms across the U.S. and Canada were eligible to take part in this first annual survey, and the definition of “staffing firms” included organizations engaged in temporary staffing, search/direct hire, PEO and outplacement.
“I was pleased and grateful to learn the results of SIA’s survey,” says Gary Nelson, Chairman & CEO. “The Nelson team has always been extremely committed and forward thinking, and to be included among the Top 10 in the U.S. is a testament to our quality staff and management. I’m particularly proud that our organization has been able to remain vital during these challenging times.”
Nelson established his business in 1970 with $10,000, 250 square feet of office space and one staff person. Today, the company has annual revenue of over $300 million and 30 offices across seven business divisions.
In the midst of 2009’s economic downturn, Nelson improved its ranking twenty places to become the 44th largest staffing company in the U.S. according to SIA’s annual “Largest Staffing Firms in the U.S.” report.
SIA partnered with Valtera, a professional services firm that specializes in measuring employee engagement, to create the “Best Staffing Firms to Work For” list. Participating companies were required to complete an extensive survey of employer practices and to submit the email addresses of their full-time employees. An employee survey was conducted thereafter, with a specific percentage of employee responses required to qualify the firm for inclusion in the final results.
Profiles of all Top 10 companies are included in the December 2009 issue of SI Review.
