The late Lawrence D. Starr, former chairman and chief executive officer of Koch Equipment LLC, was recently honored through induction into the Meat Industry Hall of Fame's 2009 Inaugural Class.

Lawrence's curiosity and ability to see new applications of technology led to significant contributions in the industry.

The late Lawrence D. Starr, former chairman and chief executive officer of Koch Equipment LLC, was recently honored through induction into the Meat Industry Hall of Fame's 2009 Inaugural Class.

Starr was a philanthropist and business leader who turned Koch Equipment LLC into a world leading supplier to the meat, food processing, and packaging industries. Many also recognized him as a pioneer in introducing vacuum packaging technology in the United States. As well as his domestic influence in the industry, Starr had a global vision that paved the way for Koch to build meat processing facilities around the world. Flexibility, new ideas, responsiveness to market conditions, and making improvements to products and services were the key drivers that helped Koch Equipment become a prominent leader in the industry.
