Back to School Circa 2001
In Tutor.com's first ever back-to-school season, a student connected to a tutor through the Louisville Public Library's website to get help with an English assignment. Our 97 tutors would go on to provide 1,466 on-demand tutoring and homework sessions through the end of the year, helping students who were using the program through several public libraries including Boston Public Library, San Francisco Public Library and the Library of Charlotte Mecklenburg County.

Back to School 2009
Today, Tutor.com has more than 1,800 tutors and we conduct over 5,000 online tutoring sessions every day after-school. Students of all ages use Tutor.com thanks to more than 2,000 public libraries, schools and corporations, as well as the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps, that offer Tutor.com services free to the students in their respective communities. Students connect to a tutor from wherever they have a computer and Internet access.

"It's really gratifying to know that students have come to us 5 million times, when they needed help studying for a science test, finishing a homework assignment, writing an English paper or understanding a difficult algebra concept," said George Cigale founder and CEO of Tutor.com. "And 5 million times our tutors have been there guiding students to a correct solution, giving them the support and one-to-one attention they need to succeed on that specific problem, and more importantly giving them the confidence to stay in a tough math class, take a challenging AP® class, and be better prepared for college."
