The book clarifies the role of a baby planner, establishes a scope of practice, and covers a wide variety of topics: birthing basics, breastfeeding basics, sleeping basics, product basics, business basics, and much more.

“There is still a lot of confusion to the defined role and credentials of a baby planner, so I thought it was only appropriate to formally establish one through a book."

CEO and founder of The Baby Planner, Mary Oscategui has released the first official e-book about the baby planning industry, titled “The Baby Planner: A Guide to Becoming a Baby Planner and starting your own business”. The intention of her book is to clarify the current misconception of the job of a baby planner and provide those interested in a baby planning career with all the tools and support necessary to get started in the new industry of baby planning. The book defines the role of a baby planner, establishes a scope of practice, and covers a wide variety of topics: birthing basics, breastfeeding basics, sleeping basics, product basics, business basics, and much more. The hard copy will be released shortly after the New Year.

The book was born naturally as Mary saw the tremendous need to establish a formally written set of standards and credentials in the new and emerging industry of baby planning. “There is still a lot of confusion to the defined role and credentials of a baby planner, so I thought it was only appropriate to formally establish one through a book. As a baby planner there needs to be a clear scope of practice.” says Mary.

Mary has also decided to raise the bar in her industry by being the first baby planning company to offer a baby planner certification in the form of a twelve week training program. “An education process by where a certification is earned will help build the respect and credibility that our industry deserves.” says Mary. Her students and soon to be graduates are Ana Anselmo (NYC Baby Planner), Rachel Macias (DC Baby Planners), Ingrid Prueher (Savvy Mom On Call), and Isabelle Lacarce-Paumier (Lee Fees Du Berceau of France and Switzerland).

Lastly, she has founded The International Academy of Baby Planner Professionals. Mary’s advisory board listed below includes experts who serve as advisors and staff to The International Academy of Baby Planner Professionals. They assist Mary in educating and supporting future baby planners through the certification process, in order to help her raise awareness in the baby planning industry.
