Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) today announced that its innovative web portal, Optimum.net, has been newly updated and enhanced to provide Cablevision’s 2.5 million Optimum Online customers with a simple and highly useful new online destination that includes one-click access to the most popular features, exclusive content, and applications including voice mail, DVR, Optimum WiFi, and email. Additionally, Optimum’s email interface has also been updated to include new features and enhancements that make the service more user-friendly than ever.

The new Optimum.net is unique in its focus on delivering easy access to Optimum’s suite of integrated products and services, as well as content that is available exclusively to customers from Newsday, News 12, and MSG Varsity, all in one place. The new web portal also includes main destination pages for “My Account,” support, and “Explore Optimum,” as well as a faster and more robust search engine for iO TV and On Demand. The updated search engine has the ability to produce high-quality results for single-word queries and very short multi-word queries and provides integrated search results across linear TV, On Demand and Online Videos from programming partner sites. This content and features aggregation brings together all things Optimum, and enables customers to unlock even more value from the services they subscribe to.

Optimum’s popular email service been significantly updated, adding new features that make email easier to use than ever, including an enhanced layout and new design; a rich, interactive user interface; simplified search; a preview panel; and drag and drop, right click, and scrolling capabilities.

“Our newly enhanced email service is now fully loaded with all the great features and services that our customers have come to expect from Optimum,” continued O’Sullivan. “Our new design and the addition of advanced features makes our email platform extremely competitive with other major email providers, and we will only continue to grown and develop this service in the future.”

Optimum Online has achieved a broadband market share in Cablevision’s service area of more than 75 percent, and is the most highly penetrated high-speed Internet service in the country, used by more than 52 percent of the homes passed by Cablevision’s fiber rich network. Optimum Online offers high-speed Internet service for the home and small and medium-sized businesses, delivering speeds of up to 15 megabits-per-second (Mbps) downstream and up to 2 Mbps upstream. Optimum Online Boost offers up to 30 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream, along with advanced configurations and business-grade tools. Optimum Online Ultra delivers the nation’s fastest downstream broadband connections, up to 101 Mbps, exceeding the speeds available from any other cable or telco provider at a significantly lower cost.
