David's Cookies, a New Jersey-based Gourmet Dessert Company, has announced the acquisition of Yorktown Bakery LLC effective January 01, 2010.
This acquisition will further strengthen David's Cookies position as a full line gourmet dessert supplier with the addition of high quality Thaw and Serve Cinnamon rolls and Danish to their product mix.
David's Cookies will retain existing Yorktown management, including Mr. Jim Tanico, to assist in product development and sales of new products complimentary to the David's Cookies line.
David's Cookies, and their customers, can now add top quality Cinnamon rolls and Danish to their long list of desserts, including high quality cookies, brownies ,muffin batter , cookie dough, cheesecakes, and tarts.
ABOUT DAVID'S COOKIES - In 1979 Chef David Liederman (b 1949, New York, New York) began to create cookies that became the basis for the David's Cookies line of desserts, baked goods, and cookie dough. Liederman's first cookie shop was located in Manhattan, New York, and by the 1980s David's Cookies grew to over 250 cookie shops worldwide. In the late 1980s, many stores closed and David's Cookies was purchased by Fairfield Gourmet Foods, a New Jersey-based cookie manufacturing company.
