Pharos Systems International today announced the launch of version 8.1 of Pharos Uniprint®, the leading print management and cost recovery software for Higher Education.

Building on features introduced in version 8.0, Uniprint 8.1 enhances performance for end users. It also makes installation and administration tasks easier, faster, and more intuitive. For instance, the new Output Management Overview graphically illustrates how the print environment is configured, while the new Print Configuration Assistant helps import existing devices to be managed by Uniprint.

Additionally, for consistency, responsiveness, and ease of use, the Remote administration tool now uses the new administration framework.

Uniprint 8.1 includes support for the following platforms:

  •     Windows 2008 R2
  •     Windows 7
  •     SQL 2008 Express edition or better
  •     Active/Passive Windows Clustering

Paul van Wichen, Product Manager for Uniprint, commented, "Higher Education output environments continue to grow and get more complex. The expectations of campus end users are extremely high because they are so tech savvy. Uniprint 8.1 ensures that colleges and universities can deliver easy, fast, and reliable access to printing for their users even in the most challenging environments."
