Furnace MFG proudly announces completion of another innovative project, one that brings a vinyl record-like CD compilation to fans and customers of Roxy, the $400 million young woman’s clothing and active lifestyle brand.
When Roxy, a division of Quiksilver, Inc., contacted Furnace MFG and asked it to create a unique holiday season promotional product for its retail stores, Furnace leveraged expertise in media duplication and vinyl record production to devise a new product for Roxy— a compact disc that looks just like a vinyl record.
Furnace MFG created a CD that imitates both the look and feel of a vinyl record and packaging to match. Using black polycarbonate, Furnace created a “groovy”-looking black CD along with an LP-like gatefold jacket. The result is a CD package that provides the vinyl LP experience.
With sales of vinyl records rising and awareness of the increasingly hip format growing among a younger demographic, Roxy saw a great opportunity to bring its customers a promotional product that ties together the CD’s convenience with the LP’s more tactile experience.
“Music From Our Heart, Vol 3,” contains 17 tracks from various indie artists like Little Boots, Kleerup, Great Lake Swimmers, and Amanda Blank. Distribution of the free CD to Roxy customers will be through retail stores throughout the world, while supplies last.
