Science Museum of Virginia Expands its Commitment to "Virginia Green" by Rewarding Individuals Who Take Greener Trips

Science Museum of Virginia, has teamed up with NuRide, the nation's leading commuter rewards company, to reward Virginia residents when they go green and reduce vehicle emissions by carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, telecommuting and taking public transportation.

"Science Museum of Virginia has been powering young minds to think differently about energy and our environment for years" said Terri Rose, Science Museum of Virginia Director of Marketing, "and we are proud to reward Virginia residents who are doing their part by taking a green trip."

NuRide is being promoted throughout the greater Richmond area through its partnership with RideFinders, a division of GRTC Transit System, and Central Virginia's premiere commuter services company. "We are thrilled to have the Science Museum of Virginia be one of the first major sponsors in Richmond to step up and reward area commuters for taking a greener trip" said Von Tisdale, Executive Director of RideFinders, "and we know that this fabulous incentive will be warmly received by all participating commuters who deserve this terrific reward".

To participate in the NuRide program, Richmond-area commuters can sign up on the NuRide web site at http://www.nuride.com and through http://www.ridefinders.com. Participants earn points for every carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, telecommute or public transportation trip they record on the NuRide web site. Points can then be redeemed for rewards and special offers from local and national sponsors. The NuRide rewards program has delivered over $1.8 million in rewards from over 200 sponsors and is currently operational in Richmond, VA, Hampton Roads, VA, Houston and San Antonio, TX, and the New York and Connecticut metropolitan region.
