We believe PowerSchool will change the way we conduct business. Teachers will have one centralized record-keeping tool. Parents will benefit from better and more-timely communication with their child's school
Rancho Cordova, CA (PRWEB) December 14, 2009
Pearson today announced that the Cheatham County School District in Ashland City, Tenn., has selected Pearson's PowerSchool as its new web-based student information system (SIS). Pearson's PowerSchool will serve Cheatham County's more than 7,000 students in 13 schools.
"The Cheatham County School District selected Pearson's PowerSchool Premier based on the system's strong functionality for parents, teachers and administrators," said Dale McCarver, Technology Coordinator for the school district.
"We believe PowerSchool will change the way we conduct business. Teachers will have one centralized record-keeping tool. Parents will benefit from better and more-timely communication with their child's school," McCarver said. "We chose the Pearson family of Student Management Products because they are clearly the leaders in the industry."
'As the first school district in Tennessee to switch from a state-provided student information system, Cheatham County faculty and staff are looking forward to a faster, more intuitive system in PowerSchool Premier,' McCarver said. He believes the switch will help teachers spend less time on administration and more time with their students.
PowerSchool will serve as the information backbone for the Cheatham County School District. Through its robust set of communications tools, PowerSchool will provide access to secure, real-time student information through a web browser -- effectively creating an interactive dialogue between parents, students and teachers. Additional benefits, such as master scheduling and reporting capabilities, will lend substantial efficiencies to the district.
"The Cheatham County School District understood that the information provided by a new SIS would positively impact student performance and district reporting processes," said Paul Fletcher, President of the School Systems group of Pearson. "Pearson provided the right solution in PowerSchool Premier."
The Cheatham County School District will begin implementing PowerSchool Premier in December 2009.
