We quickly outgrew our old offices. Our new building, which previously housed Brunswick Florist, now provides us with many separate offices to comfortably support employees and portfolio companies as well as collaboration areas with plenty of room for growth
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) December 13, 2009
Goldstein, Caldwell & Associates (GCA), a Cleveland-based seed capital investment and business development company, announces its second portfolio company showcase on Wednesday, December 16. The event is open to private investors and entrepreneurs from 6 pm to 9 pm at GCA’s new headquarters located at 10550 Carnegie Avenue. The event is by invitation only. To request an invitation, call Todd Goldstein at 216-255-3069 or e-mail: todd(at)goldcald(dot)com.
GCA represents a growing portfolio of start up and early stage ventures founded by young entrepreneurs in the Cleveland area. The main stage showcase will highlight advances that have been made by four new technology and social media start ups that exemplify GCA’s model of quickly turning ideas into viable business opportunities. These companies include: Ring Rang, a click-to-connect Web tool for enhanced customer service and communications; Flashnotes.biz, a site for college students to exchange and purchase class notes; 140Match.com, a dating site that mines Twitter updates to match up ideal mates, and Friend Spheres, a platform created to help companies integrate social networking services into their existing applications.
GCA’s featured start ups will be joined by 12 other early stage companies for total of 16 portfolio companies demonstrating their emerging technologies. These include presenters from GCA’s July portfolio showcase: Flexhire, Corkshare, Sunflower Solutions, and Advanced Medical Innovations, which will share their recent success stories and growth opportunities.
Along with its portfolio, GCA continues to grow its staff and advisory board. GCA’s goal for 2010 is to significantly increase funding in order to provide a wider breadth of business development services, add more start up companies, and sponsor young entrepreneur development programs with local colleges and universities. Recently, GCA expanded its headquarters to provide space all of its portfolio companies.
“We quickly outgrew our old offices. Our new building, which previously housed Brunswick Florist, now provides us with many separate offices to comfortably support employees and portfolio companies as well as collaboration areas with plenty of room for growth,” explains Todd Goldstein, managing partner, Goldstein, Caldwell & Associates.
Goldstein, Caldwell & Associates (GCA) is a seed capital investment and business development company that helps young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into viable businesses. Through seed funding, business development expertise, mentoring and a youth-focused culture, GCA helps portfolio companies accelerate the start-up process. Once a start-up venture is stable, has a proven business model and is generating revenue, GCA looks for second stage investors to fuel the next phase of growth. This approach improves the success rate for seed stage ventures and mitigates risks for early investors. Northeast Ohio benefits by attracting and retaining young entrepreneurs who contribute to the area’s economic growth.
