Because all codes are consistent throughout Skyward, when the new district uploads the student data, there will be no need to search for lost or inconsistent data because it’s all there through the cross-referencing codes Skyward sets up.
Stevens Point, WI (Vocus) December 12, 2009
Skyward, the industry leading K-12 administrative software provider, announced today the availability of District-to-District Data Transfer, which will allow school districts to confidently transfer student information when a student moves to another district.
This new option within the Skyward Student Management Suite™ will allow districts to easily and securely transfer student’s immunization, grade, and demographic history between districts that are using Skyward.
"District-to-District Data Transfer is an innovative new module for districts that are looking for a secure way to transfer student data," said John Ackerlund, Skyward Vice President of Systems Development. "Because all codes are consistent throughout Skyward, when the new district uploads the student data, there will be no need to search for lost or inconsistent data because it’s all there through the cross-referencing codes Skyward sets up."
Previously, districts were required to print off student data when a student would transfer districts, which resulted in excessive paper usage and time-consuming administrative responsibilities at the new district to manually enter the student data. With Skyward’s District-to-District Data Transfer, districts initiate a new student request digitally to the student’s previous district and upon acceptance of the request, all immunization, grade, and demographic information for the student is automatically entered into their system. The data is transferred utilizing secure sockets layer (SSL) to ensure security and data integrity.
District-to-District Data Transfer is available as a standard option in the Skyward Student Management Suite™. There is no cost for Skyward customers to implement District-to-District Data Transfer.
Since 1980, Skyward has been serving the K-12 administrative software needs of school districts.
